The Warriors won easily last night 25-11 and 25-13 beating Marshall for the second time this season. Several girls had personal bests during the contest. The Warriors dominated in service. Grace Hanna delivered 8 aces; Kayla Matlack 7 (a personal best) and Lily Galloway and Chelsea Rios each had 2 aces! Suheila Mukhtar reliably got one serve in. Attacks were the strongest this season with Rios attacking successfully 5 times (a personal best); Mukhtar and Hanna with 3 each; and Matlack with 2. Ciara Roe and Mena Brook performed laudably.

In set two, Hanna led the way with 4 aces; Matlack, Galloway, Rios and Brook each had one ace (a personal best for Brook). The team attacked successfully 14 times with three tips in our second set win. Matlack and Rios each attacked 5 times (personal best for Matlack). Hanna delivered key attacks 3 times and Mukhtar and Brook once each. Matlack and Rachel Chapuis, together, tipped three times – twice for points. Robyn Gleason and Angelica Hoffman delivered reliable passes enabling sets for attacks. Rachel Chapuis’ setting was spot on and showing strong court awareness and strategic sense. This brings us to a 8-3 record. Our next game is Wednesday October 10th against Falls Church. Come on out and support your volleyball team.
