Great start for the Warriors as the game began. A lot of pressure and energy led to the Warriors first goal of the season when Oscar Lopez-Salas got a through ball and took a strong shot that was saved by the goalie but freshman forward Hector Hernandez was there for the rebound and scored from about 6 yards away. Second half again the Warriors has some chances but couldn’t extend the lead. Yorktown was able to score and tie it up. Then about 10 mins later, Yorktown took the lead with a shot to the corner from about 15 yards away. The Warriors then showed that they came to play and bounced back just 5 mins later when a nice pass from Senior Erwin Delgadillo to Senior teammate Marvin Munoz who didn’t hesitate and struck a hard volley that forced a good save from the Yorktown goalie but right into the path of Senior midfielder Oscar Lopez-Salas who smashed another hard shot low and into the net to tie the game up at 2-2. After 80 minutes of soccer the game went into two overtime periods and no one was able to score. Great game from both teams! The Warriors now prepare to face Annandale at home on Friday at 7pm.
