Warriors News · BOYS SOCCER PULLS AN UPSET IN DISTRICT PLAYOFFS

Going into the district soccer tournament as the #6 seed is no easy when facing the #2 seeded team of Marshall.  What started off as a even match ended in an epic upset win for the Warriors!  With 9:58 remaining in regulation time at Marshall on Monday, May 14th, weather reared it’s ugly head and the game came to a halt.  After waiting 2 hours to resume, the game was postponed and both teams were sent home while schools scrambled to figure out what fields games would be played on since lacrosse games were scheduled for the next day.  Marshall gave up playing with home field advantage to allow the game to be concluded at Wakefield on Tuesday, May 15 at 5:00 pm.  Well this game went to overtime, second overtime and PK’s!  Wakefield won 4-1 with some great stops coming from our freshmen goalie.

The Warriors play in Semis at Falls Church on Wednesday, May 16 at 6:00 pm.

Tickets $6 or $7 pending double headers.
